Hello fellow readers! We meet again in 2026. This year, I'd still like to post
wrap up of the books I read each month and highlighting some medias I consume.
As a starter, in January I was on a bit of a reading slump. Usually, I'd pick
up a horror or mystery book to revive my interest in reading. It worked. My
reading is picking up the pace in the next month so I'm glad I did that.
Here's the book I read in January.

Strange Pictures - Uketsu (★★★) |
|
I started this book because I was in a reading slump. Usually
reading mystery books is helpful for me. It did. I finished this
book rather quick because it's intriguing. The premise is not that
new actually. Using pictures as clues has been done before, but the
way these pictures used to tie the mystery is done neatly. It's a
fun experience too trying to guess what the pictures actually mean
and the weigh they hold over the mystery. Because of this book, I'm
curious with Uketsu's other books.

January Favorites
Anime
Jigoku Sensei Nube
Jigoku Sensei Nube was originally released in 1996. In 2025, a new anime
adaptation was released. It's a remake so some manga chapter is reanimated
in this 2025 series. This anime is my childhood, I even have an inside joke
with my sister in regard to this anime. I remember some of the plot so it
felt like a repetition. However, Nube is still funny and entertaining as
ever. Though it's supposed to be a horror anime, the comedy balances it out.
I recommend this one to watch.
There you have it. I know we're not off to a good start since it's March
already. Bear with me, I'll try to be more discipline with my posting time.
How was your beginning of the year? I hope it's better than me.
