Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic is favorite heroines from books/movies/TV shows. Writing this post, I realized that I haven't read many books with heroines that I like. So I include my favorite heroines from TV shows because my second favorite thing to do is watching TV shows.
Top Four Favorite Heroines from Books
Hermione Granger from Harry Potter series
I don't think it's necessary to explain about this one. I mean, come on! She's smart. That's enough for me to love her. She often becomes the voice of reason in the group. She's just awesome. Both book version and movie version.
Katherine 'Kitty' Jones from Bartimaeus Sequence
I've finished reading the series recently . It's a good series although I haven't seen many people talk about it. She's tough and smart. She believes that commoners (non-magician) should be treated equally with magicians. She fights hard for that. She's like a combination of Hermione and Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games.
Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan from The Help
She's a brave young woman. She's a privileged girl, but she's not like her spoiled friend. She's basically good at heart and has the most liberal thinking than any of her friends.
Lisbeth Salander from Millenium trilogy
She may look small, but she's tough. She's also genius. Most people will judge her because of her appearance. But it doesn't matter, because she never gives an eff about what other people say. In the second book of the series, The Girl Who Played with Fire, she's accused of two killings. What she did then was focusing her energy to hunt down the real killer.
It was completely impossible to box with her. She had only one style, which we called Terminator Mode. She would try to nail her opponent, and it didn't matter if it was just a warm-up of friendly sparring.
Top Three Favorite Heroines from TV Shows
Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
She kicks ass and sassy. She's a student/cheerleader at day and vampire slayer at night. Sometimes, she's just an ordinary teenager.
Maggie Greene from The Walking Dead
She kicks ass and sassy. She's a student/cheerleader at day and vampire slayer at night. Sometimes, she's just an ordinary teenager.

I like Maggie in the show much better than the comic. Her character's developed well throughout the series. At first, I saw her as a daddy's little girl. She's been living in her father's farm for almost her entire life. Then the zombie apocalypse happened and crazy things happened. If you see her now in season 5, she has changed a lot. She won't hesitate again to kill any walker out there. Also, Maggie and Glenn make a cute couple.
Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time
I'm a sucker for a fairy tale retelling. Yet, Emma is not your typical damsel in distress. She doesn't need prince charming to rescue her. She is the savior. I love her trademark leather jacket too.
I could only think about seven characters that I love. How about you? Do you make it to ten? Feel free to leave your answer or a link to your post in the comment.

Great list Kuroneko! I love your tv heroine section! I love Once upon a time and Emma is my favourite character, but living in the UK means we're sooo far behind! :(
