Hi! There's this reading challenge which is inspired by role-playing video games. It sounds fun and I do need motivation to tackle my TBR pile. So I decided to join in! The challenge is created by Aentee from Read at Midnight and the art is created by CW from Read, Think, Ponder. It runs from August 13th until September 10th.
The rule of this reading challenge is basically you choose one of the four character classes provided (Mage, Rogue, Bard, and Knight) and read books based on the quest path of the character class on the bingo board. There are also side quests which you can do to gain more points. You can read full information about the rules and the point system on Read at Midnight. The character class that I choose is Bard.
While the bards may not engage in direct combat, they make up for it with their intimate knowledge of songs and stories. They will travel through the Fifth Down path on the quest board, reading famed tales and singing lost songs.
Now, into the TBR. The TBR is tentative. It could change as the reading quest progresses. I might decide to do some side quests later, but in the meantime here's my TBR.
- a book that has a TV/ movie adaptation: 13 Reasons Why - Jay Asher
- a fairy tale retelling: Boy, Snow, Bird - Helen Oyeyemi
- a book cover with striking typhography: The History of Love - Nicole Krauss
- a book translated from another language: The Vegetarian - Han Kang
- a banned book: The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold or Fun Home - Alison Bechdel
Will you be participating on #The ReadingQuest? Which character class do you pick?
