April 2026 Wrap-Up & Favorites

April Wrap-Up & Favorites
Source: personal collection

Hi fellow readers! my April was filled with planning and researching since I was going on a trip in May. So I only read one book and it's a reread. I want to call it a comfort read but the title kind of makes me sound creepy if I call it a comfort. Let's leave it at that.

In The Miso Soup In The Miso Soup - Ryu Murakami (★★★)
It's a reread for me. The after feeling is still the same. It creeps me out and it's so graphic that I felt nauseous reading the book. I didn't remember the ending so I was a bit hopeful that it would end in a good way for the protagonist. It doesn't. Anyway, if you're fine with graphic violence and gore, you can try this book out. However, if you're not, then I wouldn't recommend this book because things escalate pretty quickly here which unfortunately is how it usually is with Ryu Murakami books.

April Favorites

Series

Bridgerton
I'm finally on the Bridgerton bandwagon. I was looking for a fluffy series that use English because I planned on watching it while doing something else. It's fun and enjoyable to watch if you're not taking the historical part seriously since it's supposed to be set in an alternate regency era. The dresses are beautiful, the setting, and I kind of envy the part where all they do is dance and look for suitors. I ended up binging the whole season and looking for more. Now I'm with million other people who are waiting for the next season to come out.

There you have it. I know it's a late post. I hope that you had such a nice month in April.
