Things’re going well for the prison gang, I’m almost afraid to read more to see bad things that will happen to them. I know bad things’re going to happen. Governor is still a threat for Rick’s group. I wasn’t sure about his condition after Michonne did some revenge to him; whether he’s alive or not. Waiting for his attack is like waiting for a time bomb to explode. The ending though, really make me want to read the next volume immediately. At some panels, Rick’s drawn in weird angle which makes him not look like Rick at all. But aside from that, all’s good. I stil able to distinguish which one is who. Can’t wait to read the next volume.

Title: The Walking Dead Vol 8: Made to Suffer
Issues: #43-#48
Writer: Robert Kirkman

Rating: 5/5

The governor is sooo evil! I hate him so so much. He twisted the truth to manipulate people in Woodbury to attack Rick’s group. His attachment to his zombified daughter is disturbing. I know it doesn’t sound right, but oh it feels satisfying to see the end of the governor. Finally! It was brutal. Everything went so fast, I was in shock to learn that some main characters are dying. Even my favorite ones! The artists certainly didn’t hold back when drawing the artwork. All the gores are drawn vividly. I didn’t have problem with the gore of this series until this volume. The children didn’t make much appearance except Carl. It’s sad to know that Carl is okay with people dying. The zombie apocalypse is getting to him. I want to know what Rick’s group will do after the ambush. I know for sure that they can’t stay in the prison anymore. I give this volume a five out of five.

Title: The Walking Dead Vol 9: Here We Remain
Issues: #49-#54
Writer: Robert Kirkman

Rating: 4/5

Here We Remain mostly about the aftermath of the attack and how the survivors deal with losing their loved ones. In the first part of this volume, the group split and Rick is left with Carl. It is more like a quiet period after the chaos in the previous volume. This volume is sad and depressing. Rick has gone crazy. The scene where Rick got phone call and realizing who’s calling is heartbreaking. The truth behind Michonne’s self talk is also revealed.
In this volume we meet new characters. One of them claims that he knows what’s causing the zombie mess. Apparently he needs to go to Washington D.C. to solve the zombie outbreak. This might bring hope to the survivors, but since I’m updated with the TV show, I know the truth and it’s not as exciting as it seems.

  2. iya susah kayaknya mbak kalo diterjemahin, banyak gambar saru --a nudity, sex, gory.
Walaupun beda, serialnya baguuuus! Malah kalo komik kayaknya di beberapa karakter emang si Kirkman kurang bagus mbawainnya. Terutama karakter cewek, bagusan di serial :D
